The Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild


The Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild provides a vibrant center for excellence in the arts and crafts in the beautiful and unique rural community of Woodstock, New York, while preserving the historic and natural environment of one of the earliest utopian art colonies in America. It offers an inspiring combination of residency, educational, exhibition, and performance programs that encourage creative collaboration among artists, students, arts professionals, and the public.

The Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild is a multi-arts membership organization. Its Kleinert/James Arts Center hosts local and national performing, visual and literary artists. The WBG offers a variety of classes in the arts and is steward of the Byrdcliffe Arts Colony. Founded in 1903, Byrdcliffe is one of the older artists colonies in the country, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its historical and architectural significance.  A regional center for the arts located in Woodstock, New York. From its 250 acre mountainside campus and its arts and performance center. It offers an integrated program of exhibitions, performance, classes (ceramics, dance and jewelry), workshops, symposia, summer residences, and artist housing.
