Red Hook Public Library
The mission of the Red Hook Public Library is to provide services and materials for our community residents of all ages for their personal growth, enjoyment and educational needs. The library is dedicated to providing practical access to information. Our further mission is to serve as a place for children to discover the joy of reading and the value of libraries.
The Red Hook Public Library was founded in 1898. Since 1935, the library has made its home in a building designed by Orson Squire Fowler. Built by Red Hook Tobacco Factory owner Allen Barringer Hendricks, the house is one of the finest examples of octagonal architecture in the Hudson Valley. We offer story times and other activities for children, teens, and adults, including a book discussion group. Check our program calendar or call the library at 845-758-3241 for information.
